Box Lacrosse Rules

Box Lacrosse Field

  • Indoor lacrosse is played on a hockey rink covered by an Astroturf playing surface. There must be boards around the sides of a minimum height of 3 feet. The dimensions of the field are 200 feet x 85 feet but may be altered.
  • Goals are 4 feet x 4 feet 6 inches. The circle around the goal is known as the crease, and is 9 feet in diameter. An offensive player is not allowed to step into the crease area.
  • The large box around the crease is known as the attack area. Any penalty called against a defender in this area by an official is accompanied by a raised hand followed by whistle blown only after the offensive thrust has ended.
